Wizards Donate Shirts for Fundraiser

The Wizards ticketing department helped to sponsor a fundraiser run for fallen soldiers who had lost their lives serving in Afghanistan. This particular run had special meaning, as it commemorated the lives of several soldiers from a battalion with the mother of a Wizards staff member; Nicole Sanchez.

The money collected from the fundraiser went towards erecting a memorial (seen here) for those brave soldiers.

More info from Nicole:

"This Task Force Diamond Head Memorial was erected at Schofield Barracks, HI to honor the lives of the battalion's fallen comrades who made the ultimate sacrifice during Operation Enduring Freedom 12-13. A U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter crashed on a nighttime mission in southwestern Afghanistan last April while responding to a suicide attack on a local police checkpoint, killing four soldiers from the Task Force Diamondhead battalion. A fundraising run was held by the deployed soldiers at FOB Wolverine to purchase the memorial."

A nice gesture shown from the Wizards ticketing department.
