Nice Win North of the Border, Eh?

The Wizards continued their hot play with a win north of the border over the Raptors on Monday night at Air Canada Center.

That's three in a row and seven of nine for a team that at one point this season were staring a 4-28 record in the face. They are also now 13-9 since John Wall's return.

Before the game, a funny scene occurred in the locker room, as an unnamed member of the Wizards staff set up cones over wires with a sign that read "CAUTION: Coach's Tripping Area". Apparently, head coach Randy Wittman had some issues getting to his pregame media availability which induced the hazard to be built.

With all kidding aside, Wittman was asked after practice today if he can give himself any credit for the turnaround this team has seen over the last six weeks:

Although he missed 5 games with a wrist injury, the production the Wizards have gotten from 19 year old rookie Bradley Beal has been remarkable. He won Rookie of the Month awards in both December and January, but is playing his best basketball of the season here in February, averaging 20.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists in his last six games.

Beal spoke with the media after today's practice and talked about the progress he has made this season:

The Wizards now prepare for the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night at Verizon Center. The Pistons will be looking for a season sweep of the Wizards, winning the previous three games. However, the Wizards are on a three game winning streak, while the Pistons have lost four of five. There is no doubt the Wizards will have this in mind when the two teams square off on Wednesday night! The Live Chat begins at 7pm on!
