"Don't Mess it Up"Posted on May 21, 2013 by Jeremy Hyman

Almost time for the NBA Draft Lottery here in Times Square. The Wizards have the 8th best chance to win (3.5%) this year, so nobody is holding their breath, but do have a 12.3 % chance to get either the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd pick.
The Wizards can end up drafting either 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, or 11. The best odds are for either 8 or 9, but if luck is on our side tonight we could leap frog the rest of the lottery teams and end up with a top 3 pick!
We just wrapped up a dinner and meet and greet, where Bradley Beal was chatting with his fellow 2012 draft class members (Anthony Davis, Andre Drummond) and met with some of the incoming draft prospects,(Michael Carter-Williams, C.J. Mccollum, and Anthony Bennett) who he gave some advice as they prepare to enter the league.
Beal indicated that he did not bring any special good luck charms for tonight's event, but he is wearing the same tie he wore to the NBA Draft last year, which he said worked out pretty well for him.
He also said with a laugh he received these words of advice from head coach Randy Wittman: "Don't mess it up."
It's now in the hands of the lottery gods. We'll hope for the best.
Check out some behind the scenes photos of Beal on the Wizards Facebook page.
