Wall Meets Wounded Warrior

Posted on January 26, 2013 by

Cpl. Bailey and his wife Mrs. Bailey met with Wizards PG John Wall before Friday night's #WizWolves game for a meet & greet at Verizon Center. Cpl. Bailey is a US Marine who served in Afghanistan and was injured on June 28th, 2011 in a firefight. He stepped on a hidden IED (Improvised Explosive Devices) and lost both of his legs. He and his wife both attended the Salute to the Stars event in early October, but did not have a chance to meet Wall. Both of the Bailey's are fans of the game and Cpl. Bailey is a huge fan of Wall.

The two got to take pictures with Wall just prior to the game and were given autographed memorabilia.

Wall would go out and score 14 points and dish out five assists as the Wizards beat the T'Wolves, 114-101, as the Bailey's enjoyed from their seats.

Stats from the West Coast Trip

January 25, 2013

The west coast road trip concluded 2-3, with wins over two potential Western Conference playoff teams in Denver and Portland. The three losses were by a combined 12 points, with none of them being decided until late in the fourth quarter. With a little bit of luck, the trip easily could've ended 3-2 or 4-1 for the Wizards. Here are some stats to peruse from the five game west coast swing:
