Halfcourt Competition in SacramentoPosted on January 16, 2013 by
Greetings from Sacramento!
We left for D.C. Tuesday morning for this five game, nine day west coast trip starting in Sacramento. The team is feeling good after their largest win of the season on Monday night, where they beat the Magic 120-91.
We arrived around 2pm local time and went right to the arena for a practice. Trevor Booker returned to practice after missing last night’s game with a sprained ankle, but Jordan Crawford and Cartier Martin were held out, though Crawford did get shots up at the end.
The end of practice also consisted of a halfcourt shooting contest, where each player got to take one shot from half court. If a player made it in, the rest would get a chance to match.
Round 1 saw John Wall hit the first shot and it appeared he would be the winner. But, Trevor Ariza, the final contestant, answered with one of his own.
Round 2 saw Cartier Martin sink one, but it was Martell Webster who matched his shot and forced round 3.
Only one player hit in round 3 and once again it was Martell Webster, who would be crowned halfcourt shooting champion of the day!Posted in: Sports
The ball is moving and the Washington Wizards are headed in the right direction. On the strength of a season-high 32 assists that produced a season high in points, the Wizards defeated the Orlando Magic 120-91 for their third straight win. Here is today’s Wizards Report:
