Friday's Practice ReportPosted on January 14, 2013 by FantasticWiz
Jeremy Hyman - WashingtonWizards.com It is rare to have three consecutive off days in between games, but interestingly enough, the Wizards have two sets of them to open the season. This meant that they had three straight full practices at Verizon Center, which was the first time that has happened since camp opened in the beginning of October. Having all this practice time can't hurt a team with a lot of new faces and they are making the most of it. This extra time gave Kevin Seraphin a chance to practice for two straight days and he did so without a hiccup. He seems very eager to play on Saturday night, though the team wants to be cautious. One of the hot topics of the media availability session was Kevin Garnett, who will be in town on Saturday night when the Celtics take on the Wizards. See what some of the players and Head Coach Randy Wittman had to say about facing Garnett: Bradley Beal talked about making some adjustments from Tuesday night's game and said that he wants to be more assertive on offense. He hit two three pointers early in Tuesday's game, but then by his own admission "disappeared" in the offense. Beal also said that this is his city now and he cant wait to get out on the court and play in front of his home crowd for the first time. Randy Wittman gave an update on Seraphin and talked about how he wants to see how Seraphin responds tomorrow after two days of practice before making a decision about his status. It sounds as if Seraphin will suit up if he feels ok tomorrow and gets cleared by the medical staff, but could be limited in his first game back.
