Game Day BullsPosted on January 14, 2013 by DJ-WizardsRadio
8:04 AM.... Dave Johnson checking in and we expect a motivated Bulls team to invade Verizon Center tonight. Derrick Rose scored 34 points, but missed a couple of free throw late in a 97-93 loss to the Heat in Miami. The last time the Wizards played the Bulls Rose was sidelined by a toe injury. Instead John Lucas III scored 25 points in a 78-64 win over the Wizards. That was then and this is now. The Wizards are eager to show how much they have improved as a team. Randy Wittman said after the three-point win on the road against the Bobcats: “This was a good learning experience,” Wittman said after the win over the Bobcats. “Our guys grew tonight. We hung tough. We didn't panic. We made plays down the stretch.” The Wizards are also trying to continue to refined their up-tempo style. Jan Vesely has been in the starting lineup the last two games. “We want to run and he can run,” Wittman said of Vesely. “He fits right in with what we want do from pace standpoint. From basketball IQ standpoint he is very good. He knows situations and extra passes and reading defenses.” We invite you to join the Blog party tonight. One thing Randy Wittman continues to stress is that the focus is striclty on the Wizards progress and he is less concerend with the oppponent at hand. That opponent will be a tough one tonight with Derrick Rose and the Bulls in town, but as Trevor Booker said this morning, this will be a great test for the young Wizards.
