SportzWiz checking in...What an unbelievable home opener at Verizon Center last night. Obviously John Wall once again showed why he was the #1 pick in the 2010 draft finishing with 28 points, 13 assists and tied a franchise record with 9 steals. While Wall's stat line was the most impressive, we all wouldn't be smiling today if it weren't for Cartier Martin's three-pointer with .4 seconds to go in regulation. Lastly, you can't say enough about Nick Young's first half performance. Without question his offense was key as he scored 15 points off the bench in the half, however his defense was arguably more impressive as he shut down Andre Iguodala and Jrue Holliday and played dynamite on the ball defense. The Wizards will be back on the practice court today at 11am, we will have coverage from practice and should receive an update on Gilbert as well later on.
