Gameday Grand Rapids

SportzWiz checking in...The Wizards return to the court tonight against the Detroit Pistons at 7:00pm...Blogcast will be underway at 7pm with all the usual suspects running the show...We will also have a listen live link up there so of course you can listen to Dave and Glenn announce the game from the Van Andel Arena. Tonight is the fourth preseason games for both teams...it will also be the first time that Flip Saunders will see his former team, the Detroit Pistons. A lot of new faces on the Pistons roster since Flip was there two years ago...Gone are Rasheed Wallace and Chauncey Billups and in their place are Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva. As far as the Wizards, today's game marks the halfway point of the preseason and another dress rehearsal for the team before the season kicks off on October 27th, which is exactly two weeks from today. Once again game tips at 7 and we'll have a listen live link for you up prior to the game. 5:06 PM....Dave and Glenn checking in from Van Andel Arena.....with the busy schedule there was no formal practice yesterday although the players all worked out on their own anyway.....had a great steak dinner last night...have yet to see any rapids...grand or otherwise....and was put on hold to see if they had any Special K   cerial (thought this was the land of Kellog's) ..they did have Special K....and this is actually a very nice town......Brendan Haywoodwill get another night off (it's no big deal it is pre season so there is no need to rush)....Mike Miller will start at two-guard.....Caron Butler Antawn Jamison and Fabricio Oberto ....will make up   the starting five... we start broadcasting at 7 on 106.7 FM and   LISTEN LIVE LINK   online....

1:51 AM....Dave Johnson checking in late (or early)....we just arrived here about an hour ago from Grand Rapids....Flip Saunders most pleased with 3 specific things...the defense is getting better...the play of Gilbert Arenas who managed 24 points on 11 shots...and the way the "second unit" was
